About Us
The Unitarian Universalist Worldwide Youth Network (UUWYN) is a global community dedicated to empowering young people to become leaders for peace, social justice, and community service. Our organization was founded by a passionate group of individuals who saw the need to engage young people in meaningful, transformative experiences that transcend borders and build connections across cultures.
As Unitarian Universalists, we believe that the world can be a better place through mutual understanding, love, and compassion. Our goal is to inspire and support youth as they explore new perspectives, grow as individuals, and contribute to positive change around the globe.
Our Story
UUWYN was started by a group of individuals who shared a common concern—why, like many faith-based organizations, our numbers were decreasing and aging. We recognized that the future of UUWYN, and similar organizations, depended on engaging younger generations. This led to the creation of UUWYN, an initiative designed to look beyond our borders and reach out to youth who are the future of our faith and our world. Our founders were united by a deep commitment to the values of Unitarian Universalism, believing that through service, cultural exchange, and building authentic relationships, we can make a lasting impact on young people, communities, and the world.
What We Do
We offer a variety of programs that give young people the opportunity to:
- Participate in Youth Exchange Programs that foster cultural understanding and peace.
- Engage in service projects that make a tangible difference in communities.
- Build leadership skills through workshops and experiences that empower youth to lead with compassion and confidence.
- Create global connections that promote understanding and unity across different cultures and backgrounds.
